Partner with us for RBWH Foundation Giving Day 2024

30 Nov 1999

Become a Giving Partner for the RBWH Foundation Giving Day 2024.

RBWH Foundation Giving Day, Wednesday 12 June, is one of the most important events on our annual fundraising calendar, with funds raised directed to projects advancing patient care and life-saving research.

Giving Day also gives Australians the chance to say thank you to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH).

Critical to the success of Giving Day are our Giving Partners. They provide financial gifts to match donations made by the public, and this incredible generosity ensures that every dollar raised has double the impact. Thanks to the generosity of Giving Partners, all Giving Day donations received by or on Wednesday 12 June 2024 will be doubled.

How Giving Day funds Extraordinary Opportunities

Thanks to the support of our generous donors, the RBWH Foundation is able to fund extraordinary opportunities across RBWH; Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS), and our prestigious research Institutes and Centres through two annual grant rounds.

These grant rounds allow researchers and clinicians to undertake a diverse range of transformational projects that enhance patient care and family support experience.

The RBWH Foundation's grants have immediate impact. Example projects funded in 2023 that instantly helped patients include:

  • 3D printing of artificial eyes
  • backpack beds for homeless patients
  • support for skull base cancer patients
  • research into infectious diseases

Your support is vital

Out of the 8,000 health professionals employed at RBWH, more than 500 clinicians conduct research to advance patient care and to fight diseases like cancer.

Despite our reliance on Australia’s brightest minds, few people realise that sourcing research funding is an ongoing issue.

  • Most potentially life-saving research projects do not receive government funding, which means they must be funded by not-for-profit organisations such as the RBWH Foundation.
  • 55% of researchers must resubmit for finance as often as every 12 months.

By becoming a Giving Partner, you will be funding patient care projects and life-saving research that would not proceed without your contribution.

Why become a Giving Partner

Our ambition at the RBWH Foundation is to increase our grant funding. We were thrilled in 2023 to have doubled our funding distribution to almost $1 million dollars towards innovative patient care and medical research.

This support is a direct result of the extraordinary giving by our donors, fuelled by their trust in our brightest medical minds to improve outcomes for patients here, nationally and internationally.

By becoming a Giving Partner for the RBWH Foundation Giving Day 2024, you are becoming a grant maker— taking much-needed timely action to help motivate and incentivise others to give.

To make your pledge, please contact the RBWH Foundation team before 31 May 2024.
