David set out on The Great Journey in memory of his wife, Judy, who passed away from neuroendocrine cancer.
Dave has cycled from Adelaide to Toowoomba, before pushing a wheelbarrow to Brisbane, raising funds and awareness for causes close to his heart. His journey culminates at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, where Judy received care, making Brisbane the final destination of an extraordinary tribute to her life and legacy.
Along the way, Dave raised funds for NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia, Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and the RBWH Foundation, while shining a light on the challenges faced by people living in regional and rural communities.
For Dave, this journey is a way of honouring Judy, sharing their story and supporting the organisations that helped them when they needed it most.

To commemorate the completion of his fundraising journey, the RBWH Foundation welcomed David Batterham to RBWH for a community sausage sizzle.
After cycling from Adelaide to Toowoomba and pushing a wheelbarrow all the way to Brisbane, David arrived at RBWH to celebrate an incredible achievement in memory of his wife, Judi.
