International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Monday 8 October 2018

October 15, 2018

Sadly many families lose their precious babies during pregnancy and shortly after birth. Although the statistics on infant death have improved significantly over the past 100 years, pregnancy and infant loss is still prevalent in our society with 1 in 4 confirmed pregnancies ending in miscarriage before 20 weeks and 1 in 120 births resulting in stillbirth or a newborn death.

International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on October 15th is for us to ensure that although they may be gone, these babies are never forgotten. It is a day to reflect, show support, raise awareness and remember those who have lost.

This is their special day of remembrance.

If you have lost a child or know someone who has. Take part in International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day and help us raise funds for RBWH Women’s and Newborn Services to continue providing support, connect and help emotionally when other parents lose their child.

HOW TO SUPPORT

MAKE A DONATION – For every donation made, we will place a memorial candle in front of the RBWH on 15th October for the WAVE OF LIGHT at 7pm.

WAVE OF LIGHT – Set up a memorial fundraising page for your lost one and share it with your friends and family to help raise awareness and vital funds. We will place a memorial candle in front of the RBWH in memory on 15th October.

WAVE OF LIGHT –  share your digital candle on your Facebook page to help raise awareness and to keep the candle burning.

About Wave of Light.

If everyone lights a candle at 7pm and keeps it burning for one hour. There will be a continuous wave of light over the entire world on October 15th.

This wave of light burns in loving memory of our babies
