Flowers have traditionally been the means by which people pay their respects to lost loved ones, however, many people are now choosing a more lasting tribute in the form of a charitable donation.
Asking friends and family to make a donation to RBWH Foundation in honour of your loved one is a very fitting way to pay homage to their memory while helping to ensure the healthy future of Queensland for
generations to come. All In Memoriam donations to RBWH Foundation are used to purchase vital pieces of life-saving equipment or to fund clinical research at the hospital which is designed to develop better treatment methods and further improve patient outcomes.
Apart from remembering your loved ones with In Memoriam donations at the time of the funeral, you may also like to remember that someone special on the anniversary of their death, on their birthday, at Christmas or at any other time. This selfless choice is often a reflection of your loved one's life, interest, values or simply as a thank you for the excellent care your loved one received during their stay at RBWH.
RBWH Foundation can provide special In Memoriam envelopes to make available at the funeral service or other occasion, or you can simply direct family and friends to make a donation to RBWH Foundation via the funeral notice. Donations can be made in person, online, by phone or fax, by downloading the donation form or by creating your own in memory fundraising page.
The Foundation will send the next of kin a letter listing the names of those that have made a donation in memory of their loved one, however no individual donation amounts will be provided. All individual donors will receive a separate letter of thanks with a receipt for tax purposes (as all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible).
All people for whom donations are made in memory of will also be listed in the Foundation's annual report.
